Heartleaf philodendron is a popular house plant because it is extremely easy to grow. It’s also known as the Sweetheart Plant and there is a lot to love. This classic houseplant is famous for it’s Heart-shaped, glossy leaves which emerge bronze, then quickly turn green. The leaves are typically 2-4 in (5-10 cm) long, and cover its long, slender stems that can grow to 4 ft (1.2 m) or more.
You may also see this plant referred to as Philodendron scandens oxycardium ‘Heart Leaf’, but no matter what you decide to call yours (I named mine Phylis), you can be sure it will bring a touch of class wherever it grows.
Unfortunately, the Heartleaf Philodendron is toxic to all animals, including humans. Keep it out of reach of curious paws and little hands.
