This classic Radiator Plant is the quintessential easy care houseplant. It has plump, waxy leaves that are shiny and succulent like. Although they are also referred to as “Baby Rubber Plants” they have nothing to do with Real Rubber trees. There leaves just look like rubber. The American Rubber Plant (another common name for them) is one laid back cutie. They adapt well to most home environments/conditions. They are fine with average indoor temperatures and humidity. Although they like a bit of humidity, it will usually remain looking good even in the dead of winter. Just try to keep it away from cold drafts and heat sources so the doesn’t dry out too much.If you notice your variegated rubber plant is becoming too green, it isn’t getting enough light. Just move it to a brighter spot to retain the lovely coloring. They prefer sandy, loamy soil, so pot this one up in a well draining cactus mix.
