Ficus Elastica Ruby Pink- 4″ Pot – Live Tropical Houseplant – Grown in the USA

Features
  • SIZE: 4" Pot
  • Grown in the USA By licensed nursery.

Ficus elastica, commonly known as the Rubber Plant or Rubber Tree, is a popular houseplant admired for its glossy foliage and relatively easy care requirements.

Caution: Ficus elastica sap can be irritating to the skin and is toxic if ingested by pets or humans. Keep it out of reach of children and animals.
Appearance: Foliage: Ficus elastica has large, thick, waxy leaves that are typically dark green, although some varieties may have burgundy or variegated leaves with patterns of cream, pink, or white. Growth Habit: It grows as a tree in its natural habitat but is often cultivated as a houseplant, forming a single-stemmed trunk or multiple stems. It can grow quite tall indoors if given the space. Care Tips: Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. It can adapt to lower light conditions but may grow more slowly or lose its vibrant colors. Watering: Allow the soil to partially dry out between waterings. Ficus elastica prefers slightly moist soil but is susceptible to overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Temperature: Prefers average room temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C) and doesn't tolerate sudden temperature drops or cold drafts well. Humidity: Adaptable to normal indoor humidity levels but benefits from occasional misting or a pebble tray for added moisture. Maintenance: Pruning: Regular pruning helps maintain its shape and encourages bushier growth. Remove any yellowing or damaged leaves. Cleaning: Wipe the leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to remove dust and keep the foliage glossy and vibrant. Repotting: Repot every few years or when the plant becomes root-bound, typically during the spring. Toxicity: Caution: Ficus elastica sap can be irritating to the skin and is toxic if ingested by pets or humans. Keep it out of reach of children and animals.
Different Cultivars: There are various cultivars of Ficus elastica, including the classic green variety, Ficus elastica 'Robusta' with larger leaves, Ficus elastica 'Burgundy' and variegated types like Ficus elastica 'Tineke' or 'Variegata'. A highly sought out version is the Tineke Ruby which has fabulous pink leaves.
Ficus elastica is a popular choice for indoor spaces due to its attractive foliage and relatively low-maintenance nature. With proper care and suitable conditions, it can make a bold statement as a decorative plant, adding a touch of greenery and elegance to your home or office environment.
